Yellow Teeth - before Photoshop

Would you like to get rid of those horrid yellow teeth in that photo of yourself? There’s no need to pay a small fortune for expensive dental treatment.

Whitening teeth is just a few clicks away with the amazing Photoshop!

It’s all so very straightforward and simple, just a matter of following a few basic techniques.

This Photoshop tutorial will show the easy and most productive way to achieve movie star white teeth perfection in a photograph. For a very professional looking result in a short space of time, this is the way to go:

  • Take a long hard look at your photo before you begin. You’re looking at some very yellowy teeth, that you just want rid of!
  • Open Photoshop, and draw a selection around the teeth. You can use Lasso tool, or use Quick Mask mode, etc.
  • If you’ve a steady hand, I suggest you use Lasso tool. That’s what I used. If don’t have steady hand, then use Quick Mask mode. While it doesn’t need to be completely exact, remember the better you get it to begin with, the more accurate you get it to start with.
  • Selecting: If you want to add to the selection, hold Shift down. If you want to take away from it, hold Alt down.
  • Select menu: Chose Feather radius of 3 pixils. That will soften edges of adjustments you are going to make.
  • Adjustment Layer: Go into Layers. On bottom of the Layers palette, click on the New Adjustment Layers icon. That’s the black and white circle (fourth from left icon).
  • Select a Hue/Saturation layer from the list, and click on it. This brings up the Hue/Saturation dialog box. We are going to use it to remove the yellow from the teeth and also brighten them.
  • First let’s remove the yellow. Start by clicking the down-pointing arrow to the right of the word “Master” at the top of the dialog box and select Yellows from the list. This allows you to make changes to the yellow in the image. With yellows selected, drag the Saturation slider in the middle of the dialog box all or most of the way to the left. This desaturates, or removes, the yellow from the teeth, leaving the teeth whiter.Hue Saturation
  • Now that you have whiter teeth, why not brighten them too? You can do this using the same Hue/Saturation adjustment layer.
  • First, go back up to the Edit list at top of the dialog box, click on the down-pointing arrow once again, but this time, select Master from the list. The “Master” option allows you to make changes to every color in the image at once.
  • With “Master” selected, drag the Lightness slider – the one directly below the Saturation option – towards the right. This will brighten the teeth. The further you drag the slider, the brighter the teeth become. Keep a close eye on your image in the document window as you drag the slider, as you don’t end up dragging it too far.
  • When you’re happy and satisfied you have the pearly white teeth you want, Click OK to exit out of the dialog box.

Magic! Don’t you just love those to die for, brilliant, white teeth?

Wow! Love My New White Teeth
